Yes, Billie Joe has come home, and getting off the street turns out to be easier than getting the street off him. He has to learn to live back at home once more, but that’s the least of his troubles once his adversary finds out he is testing for AIDS and spreads it around school.
Thank you, Jack ‘the librarian’, for the wonderful list of books you suggested for Billie Joe to read, enabling him to discover more about what it means to be gay. Gardner agreed wholeheartedly.
