David Buffet
For the past 15 years, David Buffet has been a high school teacher in Eastern Massachusetts where he distinguishes himself in the field of lower education by looking fabulous and with butt-numbingly mundane and boring lectures. While he is out at school, he's not keen on being known as the author of gay erotica. As a result, he publishes under his pen name.
David's activism began in the 1980s when he was a member of the AIDS Coalition to Unleash Power (ACT UP), and Queer Nation. In the 1990s, he came out of the closet at school and worked with the Gay, Lesbian, Straight Teachers Network (GLSTN) on making Massachusetts schools safe for gay, lesbian, and transgendered children. With colleagues, he helped organize his school's gay-straight alliance, which thrives to this day, and worked with the Massachusetts Department of Education to help other schools to do the same.
David shares his home with his partner of eleven years, and his two cats, aged eleven and four. They intend to marry in the summer of 2004 (David and his partner -- not the cats.)
